This report assesses global food security trends in 77 low- and middle-income countries. Utilizing a demand-driven model, the report analyzes income, food prices, and food supply shocks to assess current and future levels of food security across five regions: Sub-Saharan Africa, North Africa, Latin America and the Caribbean, and Asia.
The report finds that in 2022, an estimated 1.3 billion people will be food-insecure, representing an increase of 118.7 million people from 2021.
