Managing Insider Risk During Mergers and Acquisitions

While loss of IP or sensitive data by individual companies can jeopardize shareholder assets, insider threats in some sectors–particularly the defense industrial base (DIB)–also imperil technologies and information that are critical to U.S. national security.

During an M&A, the potential for data loss, data theft, or other personnel risks driven by insider threats increases significantly, as organizations attempt to strike a balance between the transparency their investors and employees expect with the discretion required to prevent the opposition from derailing the business deal.
