Executive Order 14269: Restoring America’s Maritime Dominance

The United States is launching a sweeping initiative to rebuild its maritime industrial base, expand its commercial shipbuilding capabilities, and secure its maritime supply chains. This executive order calls for strategic investment, regulatory reform, workforce development, and international engagement to reverse decades of decline and counter the dominance of foreign powers—particularly China—in global shipbuilding.
