Defense Primer: United States Airpower

Every branch of the United States armed forces uses the Air Force for a variety of missions. The United States Air Force is comprised of more than 14,000 aircraft and over 5,000 members of the armed forces. The assets of the Air Force work directly with the ground forces of the Army and Navy to provide weapons on target when and when they are required.
