From July 2023 to July 2024, cities and towns across the U.S. saw overall population growth regardless of size, according to the latest Census estimates. Smaller towns (under 10,000 people) in the South and Midwest experienced the highest growth rates, while mid-sized and larger cities also expanded, particularly in the West. Interestingly, even traditionally slower-growing regions like the Northeast posted modest gains. The data underscores a continued shift in population dynamics, shaped by regional opportunity and lifestyle preferences.
