Be Prepared For a Hurricane

Hurricanes are powerful storms that bring strong winds, heavy rain, and flooding, and they can impact areas more than 100 miles inland. With hurricane season peaking in September, it’s essential to know your evacuation zone and be prepared to either evacuate or shelter in place. Stay informed by monitoring local communications, and follow instructions from authorities—if they say to go, evacuate immediately. Remember, “Turn around, don’t drown!” Floodwaters are dangerous, so avoid walking, swimming, or driving through them.
