White Paper: Exploring the Differences Between SoftCode CivilServe and Odyssey Civil Papers

The SoftCode™ product suite is currently used in civil departments in more than 170 counties across more than 30 states. While Odyssey® has civil papers functionality included as part of the Law Enforcement™ module, civil process is not its primary competency. In contrast, SoftCode was developed as a standalone product, and in fact, for more than 20 years SoftCode was a completely separate company dedicated to providing everything a civil department needs to execute civil process efficiently.

A team of developers has been focused solely on developing SoftCode functionality for more than 20 years. This commitment and focus on civil process is why there are more than 80 features in SoftCode CivilServe™ that do not exist in Odyssey, and why Tyler purchased SoftCode in 2014. The intent of this white paper is to identify and describe these additional capabilities and provide a sense for how they can benefit SoftCode users.
