Ushering in the Next Frontier of Quantum Innovation

Executive Order 14413 establishes a whole-of-government strategy to accelerate U.S. leadership in quantum information science and technology (QIST). The order updates the National Quantum Strategy, launches the Quantum Computer for Application Development and Discovery Science (QC-ADDS) initiative, expands quantum sensing and networking research, strengthens domestic quantum supply chains, enhances cybersecurity and counterintelligence protections, grows the quantum workforce, and promotes international collaboration. Together, these initiatives aim to accelerate commercialization, scientific discovery, national security capabilities, and economic competitiveness while ensuring the United States remains the global leader in quantum innovation.
