Truth over Disinformation: Supporting Freedom and Democracy

We are at a geopolitical tipping point, and the legitimacy of an international system grounded in democratic, rule-based institutions is at profound risk. Disinformation, propagated by our adversaries at an alarming rate and compounded by an exponential growth in “junk” news and increasing censorship of accurate journalism, threatens the viability of fragile democracies around the world. Worse, the chaos resulting from this rise in unreliable information at the expense of truthful reporting, and the corresponding distrust in institutions, threaten the democratic model itself.
