It was recently reported that 40% of military families have considered leaving active-duty service because of challenges associated with military spouse employment. When service members elect to transition out of uniform before retirement, they take years of valuable work and leadership experience with them, leaving a skill and competence void in their wake. This is a significant concern as the services struggle to meet recruitment and retention goals.
