The Office of Electricity Strategic Plan outlines DOE’s strategy for modernizing America’s electric grid to support economic growth, national security, and rising electricity demand. Organized around the pathways of Stabilize, Optimize, and Grow, the plan focuses on expanding transmission capacity, improving grid reliability and cybersecurity, strengthening domestic supply chains, and accelerating innovation through artificial intelligence, advanced computing, quantum technologies, and next-generation materials. It also establishes four strategic goals that guide investments in infrastructure, resilience, grid modernization, and scientific research to ensure affordable, reliable, and secure electricity for the future.
