Human Operating System: Why Projects Fail People Before They Fail Plans

This article explores the intersection of project management and psychology, drawing on established behavioural science, cross-cultural research, and a field study conducted by the author in 2011 on emotional intelligence and organisational culture during a live Scrum adoption. It argues that the most consequential skill a project manager can develop is not technical but it is psychological. And therefore it becomes very important for projects in the government and military sector to understand that there is a direct connection between behavioural sciences and project management.
