Further Continuance of the Federal Emergency Management Agency Review Council

Executive Order 14397 extends the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) Review Council, allowing it to continue its evaluation of FEMA’s structure, operations, and effectiveness. Originally established in 2025, the council will remain active until its final report is submitted to the President or until May 29, 2026, whichever occurs first. The order also assigns responsibility for Federal Advisory Committee Act functions related to the council to the Secretary of Homeland Security and supersedes portions of Executive Order 14378. The extension ensures the council has sufficient time to complete its assessment and provide recommendations for strengthening federal emergency management.
