Executive Order 14427: Adjusting Certain Delegations Under the Defense Production Act

Executive Order 14427 modifies federal delegations of authority under the Defense Production Act, particularly those involving energy resources and production. The order amends Executive Order 13603 to give both the Secretary of the Interior and the Secretary of Energy independent authority over forms of energy within their respective jurisdictions. It also establishes new procedures for resolving energy-related disputes, directing certain matters to the National Energy Dominance Council and, when national defense infrastructure or military operations are involved, to the National Security Council as well. The order further expands delegated Defense Production Act authorities involving energy production, construction, distribution, and use.
