Executive Order 14376: Stopping Wall Street From Competing With Main Street Homebuyers

Executive Order 14376 directs federal agencies to limit large institutional investors from acquiring single-family homes that could otherwise be purchased by families. The Order instructs Treasury to define key terms, directs HUD, USDA, VA, FHFA, and GSA to restrict federally backed sales and financing that benefit large investors, and promotes owner-occupant priority policies. It also calls for antitrust review of concentrated acquisitions and enhanced ownership transparency in federally assisted housing. The policy aims to preserve housing supply for American families and expand pathways to homeownership.
