Executive Order 14350: Further Extending the TikTok Enforcement Delay

The President has issued an executive order extending the enforcement pause of the Protecting Americans from Foreign Adversary Controlled Applications Act as it applies to TikTok and similar platforms. Until December 16, 2025, the Department of Justice is prohibited from penalizing any entity for distributing, updating, or maintaining such apps. The order also protects companies from liability for actions taken before this extension and directs the Attorney General to communicate that clearly to providers. Additionally, it asserts federal authority over enforcement to prevent states or private entities from overstepping.
