Executive Order 14312: Providing for the Revocation of Syria Sanctions

In response to recent changes in Syria’s leadership and policy direction, the President has revoked multiple long-standing sanctions targeting the former Assad regime. This executive order aims to support a unified and peaceful Syria while maintaining pressure on individuals tied to human rights abuses, terrorism, and narcotics trafficking. Sanctions are lifted selectively, with new measures added to ensure accountability for past atrocities and to promote future stability. U.S. agencies are now authorized to take steps toward easing restrictions while continuing to monitor Syria’s progress.
