Emerging Technologies and Scientific Innovations: A Global Public Health Perspective
In 2022, the WHO Science Division initiated a horizon scan to identify innovations in science and technology that could improve global health, including to address health needs that are frequently neglected or not addressed adequately or rapidly enough.
The exercise is part of the discipline of “foresight”, which is the exploration, anticipation and shaping of the future, to build and use collective intelligence in a structured, systemic way to anticipate developments.
