Defense Primer: Electronic Warfare

The Department of Defense defines electronic warfare (EW) as acts that employ electromagnetic energy to manipulate the electromagnetic spectrum. EW allows commanders to communicate with troops while keeping potential enemies from accessing the spectrum. Electronic warfare affects all military domains, including land, air, sea, space, and cyberspace.

To reclaim U.S. military superiority, the study suggests boosting EW spending and inventing new strategies.
