Brain-computer interfaces (BCIs) hold incredible potential to improve the quality of life for people with disabilities and enable hands-free control of devices in workplaces or even national defense. However, challenges like data privacy, access to trials, and device maintenance remain significant hurdles. Policymakers have options to address these issues, such as enhancing data protection and improving support systems for BCI users. By tackling these challenges, we can unlock the full promise of BCIs for society.
