Advancing Health Technology Assessment Methods that Support Health Equity

The primary objective of this paper is to establish methods for health technology assessment (HTA) in the United States (US) that will ensure that HTA advances society’s goal to improve health equity for racial, ethnic, and other socially disadvantaged groups.

HTA evaluates the evidence on health care technologies such as new drugs or surgical devices to provide information used by health insurers and other policymakers in decisions about insurance coverage, pricing, and payment.
