Executive Order 14404: Imposing Sanctions on Those Responsible for Repression in Cuba and for Threats to United States National Security and Foreign Policy

Executive Order 14404 expands U.S. sanctions authorities targeting individuals, entities and financial institutions associated with the Government of Cuba. Building on a previously declared national emergency, the order authorizes asset blocking, travel restrictions and financial sanctions against persons involved in human rights abuses, corruption, support for the Cuban government or activities that threaten U.S. national security and foreign policy interests. The order also provides authority to sanction foreign financial institutions that facilitate transactions for designated individuals or organizations.
