What Is The Public Safety Advisory Committee (PSAC)?

The First Responder Network Authority (FirstNet Authority) is an independent authority within the U.S. Department of Commerce’s National Telecommunications and Information Administration (NTIA) tasked with ensuring the establishment of a nationwide, interoperable public safety broadband network. In executing this mission, the FirstNet Authority seeks to create a dedicated and differentiated broadband communications experience that transforms public safety operations. The FirstNet Authority’s Public Safety Advisory Committee (PSAC) provides advice and recommendations to assist the FirstNet Authority in carrying out its statutory duties and responsibilities. The current PSAC is comprised of over 40 representatives from public safety associations, and local, state, tribal, and federal government. The PSAC is led by a 5-member Executive Committee and a PSAC Chair.
