U.S. Air Force Case Study: Warehouse Design and Layout

The scope of this military project included a very rigid deadline along with coordinating the delivery and installation of over half a dozen different systems.

The U.S. Air Force 366th Logistics Readiness Squadron provides worldwide logistics support for F-15E aircraft and Expeditionary Combat Support Units. This includes $800 million of supplies, a 688 vehicle fleet and deployments of more that 50 C-17 equivalent loads of cargo. The squadron needed a new Receiving, Storage and Distribution System to consolidate four scattered warehouses and add efficiency to their mission of staging material for deployment around the world. Using 463L master pallets as the primary distribution tool, they  equired the ability to quickly and easily move these pallets which can weigh up to 10,000 pounds apiece.
