The Coming Military AI Revolution

Over the past twenty-five years, China has invested heavily in its military, the People’s Liberation Army (PLA), putting it on a path to “complete national defense and military modernization by 2035” and to transform the PLA into a “world-class military by the middle of the century.” China’s increased military strength now presents a formidable challenge to the U.S. led international order and to the security of U.S. allies and partners. One technology in particular will determine the preeminence of military forces in the coming decades: artificial intelligence.
