Digital Experience: Agency Compliance with Statutory Requirements

Federal agencies have been working to improve their websites and digital services under the 21st Century Integrated Digital Experience Act, which sets out requirements like accessibility, security, and mobile-friendliness. However, reports from 2022 and 2023 show that many agencies have struggled to fully meet these standards. Out of the required reports, only a portion of the requirements were consistently addressed, with some agencies even failing to submit updates. In response, new guidance from the Office of Management and Budget in 2023 aims to clarify how agencies can better meet these goals and enhance digital services for the public.
