DHS Report on Reducing the Risks at the Intersection of Artificial Intelligence and Chemical, Biological, Radiological, and Nuclear Threats

As Artificial Intelligence (AI) integrates into more areas of human activity, its potential benefits and risks have been subject to increased public and government scrutiny, highlighting the need for stronger governance over the development and use of AI and a clearer sense of the potential threats it could pose, including those related to chemical, biological, radiological, and/or nuclear threats. On October 30, 2023, President Biden issued an Executive Order (E.O.) intended to mitigate potential AI risks and threats. The E.O. establishes a governance framework for the safe and responsible development and use of AI.
