Bureau of Ocean Energy Management (BOEM) uses Intergovernmental Renewable Energy Task Forces to help shape its approach to offshore wind and other renewable energy development on the U.S. Outer Continental Shelf. These task forces include representatives from federally recognized Tribes, federal agencies, states, and local governments. Through each task force, BOEM actively seeks to involve relevant and affected governmental entities in the various stages of planning and project review.
