2024 Progress Report on the National Roadway Safety Strategy

At the U.S. Department of Transportation, safety is their top priority. Yet, in recent years, we have seen alarming increases in roadway deaths. After spiking during the pandemic, these numbers are starting to slowly come back down. While the Department is cautiously optimistic that the trends are starting to show promising reductions, the number of people dying on our streets, roads, and highways is still above the levels before the pandemic.
